How is a photovoltaic plant financed?

Operating a photovoltaic plant is a long-term, worthwhile investment. As a rule, around 10 to 20 percent of a photovoltaic plant is financed using the operator’s personal capital. Payment instalments may be financed by the feed-in tariff.
In addition to the government-owned Reconstruction Loan Corporation (KfW), other banks also offer loans for constructing solar installations, for example Deutsche Kreditbank AG, Export-Import Bank of the United States/Evergreen Solar Inc., GLS Gemeinschaftsbank eG, Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank, LBS Hessen-Thüringen, Umweltbank and Bausparkasse Schwäbisch-Hall.
